The Appeartex technology was developed with the aim to accomplish a solution to
bacteria-related problems based on a non-leaching, but still highly efficient, universally
applicable chemistry. As a result of close collaboration with leading professors in its
Scientific Advisory Board, Appeartex has indeed reached this goal!
The technology is based on the strong adsorption to virtually any material of the
Appeartex molecule that provides the surface with positive charge and the
bacteria-trapping effect. The surface modification can be applied in many ways, and no
special conditions regarding e.g. temperature or pH are required for application. The
modification involves only a molecularly thin layer and does not alter the appearance or
character of the material.
The efficacy of the Appeartex surface modification in wide range of materials and products
has been demonstrated in a number of tests (industrial standards as well as
customer-adapted tests). A short summary of results is available in Proof of concept.
